The Story of Blind Man in the Bible

Mark 8:22-26

Jesus went to a little village called Bethsaida. There, a group of peoplebrought a blind man to Him. "Please,Teacher, please touch our friend andmake him better."

Jesus took the blind man by thehand. He led him out of the village.

The blind man did not know whatto think as he followed Jesus. Hecould feel Jesus' hand in his own, andit was rough. The blind man's friendshad told him, "Jesus has healed others,He can heal you."

Jesus stopped. The blind man feltJesus take His hand away. Then Heheard Him spit. The next thing heknew, he felt the wet warmth of bothJesus' hands against his eyes.

When Jesus took His hands awayfrom the man, He asked him, "Do yousee anything?"

The man looked up. He moved hishead from side to side. "I see men, butthey are like trees, just movingshapes."

Then Jesus laid His hands on theman's eyes again. The man squinted.-He began to see everything clearly.Cold1s danced and the smiles of hisfriends greeted him. "I can see! I cansee!" he shouted to them. They allgathered around him and hugged him,thanking Jesus.

Jesus brought His disciples to a quietplace north of Lake Galilee. There, Heturned to them and asked a very

important question. "Who do peoplesay that I am?"

"Some say John the Baptist, comeback to life. To some, You're Elijah.Others say Jeremiah or one of theprophets."

Jesus said to them, "But who doyou say that I am?"

Then Peter stepped forward. He felt pushed from inside his heart to answer, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Jesus said to him, "You are veryspecial and blessed, Peter. The onlyway you could have known that was if My Father in heaven had shown it toyou."

Jesus laid His hands on His friend'sshoulders. "Remember your namePeter," He said.

Peter means "Rock," the large,sturdy kind of rock upon which houses are built. The reason for thisname became clear when Jesus said,y Church will be made up of people like you. They know that I amthe Chi' sent from God. You are theRock who 1 help build this Church."

In the same way, anyone who believe in Jesus have built their lives on the strong "rock" of Jesus. The house built on rock cannot be blown away by the storm.
