Bible Story - The Good Shepherd and the Sheep

John 10:1-21

Many people wondered, "Who isJesus? Where did He come from?"They kept asking the same questions over and over again. Jesus knew thisand gave them His answer.

"I am the Good Shepherd." ThenHe painted a word picture for them.

That way they would know why Hehad called Himself the GoodShepherd.

"I am the gate for the sheep." Theshepherd stands at the gate to thepasture. He knows which sheep are hisown and lets his sheep pass throughthe gate. He keeps away all the wildanimals who would hurt his animals "The good shepherd doeseverything he can to take care of hissheep. He would even die to savethem. Because the sheep are his, hedoes not run away when a wolf comes.He never leaves his sheep to bedestroyed. That's what someone whois just hired for the job might do.

"I am the Good Shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me. Ilay down My life for the sheep. I laydown My life so I can take it up again.This is something the Father lets Medo."

Many of the people felt good whenthey heard Jesus say that. Theywanted to believe in Him as their veryown Good Shepherd.
