Bible Story of Rebecca and Isaac

Genesis 24:1-6I

Many years later Abraham told his servant, "Go back to my homelandand find a wife for Isaac."

This was a nearly impossiblemission. There were so many women.The servant prayed to Abraham'sGod all during the journey. Finally hearrived by a well in the land whereAbraham once had lived.

He prayed, "Lord of my master Abraham, You choose the woman Youknow is right for Isaac. Show meclearly who she is. If I ask her forsome water and she says, 'Drink, andI'll water your camels, too,' then I'llknow she is the one."

Soon the servant saw a group ofyoung women coming toward him. He

asked one of them, "Please give me alittle water from your jar." This wasthe test. What would she answer?She said, "Drink, and I'll wateryour camels, too." The servant wasvery excited. It did not take long forthe servant to explain his mission toher. He found out her name wasRebekah. Soon she was on her way tobecoming Isaac's wife. Genesis 24:62-67

On the day when the servant andRebekah arrived, Isaac wasmeditating in the fields. He looked upand saw camels coming toward him.Who is that beautiful woman there?"he wondered.

At the same time Rebekah looked toward Isaac. "Who is that handsomeman?" she asked Abraham's servant."That is Isaac." She quicklycovered her face with her veil. But hereyes shone when Isaac stopped hercamel. It was love at first sight.

God had known just the rightperson to care for Isaac and just theright person to care for Rebekah
