Bible Story of a Demon Possessed Men

Matthew 8:28-34: Mark 5:1-20: Luke 8:26-39

When Jesus and his disciples landedtheir boat, they saw something verystrange. There was a man who had evil spirits living inside him.

He was not in control of himselfanymore. He had no clothes on. Hishands and feet were bloody fromwearing chains. He was dirty and

could not speak for himself. He livedin graveyards and wandered about inthe mountains like a wild man.

When he saw Jesus, he ran and fellon his knees in front of Him. Jesuscould tell that the man was not in hisright mind. He said, "Come out of thisman, evil spirits!"

A herd of pigs grazed nearby. Jesuscommanded the spirits to leave theman and go into the pigs. The evil livedspirits obeyed. As soon as they entered

out inthe pigs, the pigs ran over a cliff. They

fell all the way down, into the sea.and fellThe men who had been watching

sitting quietly at Jesus' feet. He wasdressed and in his right mind again.The people grew afraid of thepower of Jesus. They begged Him to go back where He had come from.When He and His disciples climbedback in the boat, the healed manbegged to go with Him. "No," Jesustold him, "go home and tell howmuch the Lord has done for you."So the man told people in all thenearby towns how Jesus had madehim better. And all the people wereamazed. People who were blind in the days ofJesus had no chance of living anormal life. There were no braillebooks, which can be read by feelingbumps on pages. There were no guidedogs, which can help a blind personfind his or her way through the streets.Blind people in Jesus' time had nochoice but to beg for a living. Therewas no way they could find work.They were helpless.

Everywhere Jesus went, peoplefollowed Him who were hurting inmind and body. They begged Jesus tomake them better. One day there weretwo blind men following Jesus. "Havemercy on us, Son of David!" theycalled out.

Jesus went into a friend's house.The two men followed. There, Heturned and asked them, "Do you really think I can make you seeagain?"

The two men were friends. Theyhad both heard the stories of Jesushealing people. They believed He wasthe Messiah. They had stumbled alongthe roads, bumping up against peopleas they followed Jesus. Now they werealone with Him. "Yes, Lord," theysaid.

Jesus reached out His hands andtouched their eyes. He said, "Whatyou believe can happen, really will.Just keep on believing."

Suddenly, the men saw lights andcolors. Then the shifting blurs becamereal things. They cried out as they sawJesus' face smiling at them. Wherethere had been darkness, now therewas light!

The men were so happy they wentout and told the news to everyonethey met
